anna MILTON
deliver me out of my sadness; deliver me from all of the madness
deliver me this cross that i'm bearing
all of my life, i was in hiding
wishing there was someone just like you
now that you're here, now that i've found you
i know that you're the one to pull me through

personality
Once upon a time, Anna was a well-adjusted young woman on her way to becoming a well-adjusted, sharp adult. She was very dutiful, caring, and genuine—otherwise falling under the general girl-next-door stereotype. She has a fair sense of humour, which has since soured into a biting sarcasm in the past few months. Since her newfound ‘abilities’ have made their way into her life, Anna has become a little less put-together. She is cynical, but still hopeful in a naïve and unworldly sort of way, and is cracking at the seams. She is complacent in her predicament, though she feels immense guilt over what it brings to other people. Anna has also developed a major Cassandra Complex—meaning she is at the breaking point of frustration when it comes to trying to get people to believe her and what she knows to be fact.
abilities
Anna is something of a prophet. She has the ability to hear angels’ conversations. They do not talk directly to her, but she can hear them as they speak to each other. It’s like tuning into a very high-frequency radio station. Anna can also see demons for what they are, even if they possess a human host. She can see their true face. Anna also has the ability of telekinesis, meaning that by the power of her mind, she can move objects without touching them. All of these abilities have only manifested themselves within the past few months, and thus, they are all very poorly controlled. In terms of hearing angels, Anna doesn’t have the ability to shut out the voices. She could almost be seen as a high-functioning schizophrenic.
background
Anna Milton is the only daughter of Richard and Beth Milton. The two were college sweethearts who got married straight after graduation. Richard became a Deacon, and Beth a high school guidance counsellor. They had a beautiful home, a wonderful church, amazing friends and family—but both were suffering from the burden of being unable to produce a child. Beth in particular was desperate to have a child of her own. They considered adoption, surrogacy, and everything between A and Z. Eventually the two had their daughter, a baby girl by the name of Anna Milton, but her birth and existence still manages to be a grander mystery than anything has ever been in the Milton’s picket-fence existence…
Regardless, Anna was a happy and beloved child. She grew up with all of the love and joy any child could ever hope for. She was raised to believe in faith—God, angels, and all the rest—and she was pretty much the epitome of a stereotypical Good Girl. She got good grades, was involved in the community and her church, and was the dutiful daughter. Anna graduated from high school, went to college, and began majoring in Journalism. She loved it. Her parents were surprised by her choice in subject; but loving to write, and loving to get to the bottom of things (ever the curious kitten) was what she was driven to do for a career. Her parents supported her completely. Everything was wonderful.
It all changed September 18, 2008.
“Dean Winchester is saved.”
It was clear as a bell. Anna had never heard a voice in her head before. It was the first—but unfortunately, not the last. The voices continued, got louder, and grew more insistent in her head. The more she heard, the more frightened she became. They weren’t just voices in her head, but actual Angels speaking, and not to her, but to each other. She could hear them and all that was going on in the world that she’d previously been so blissfully ignorant to. The world was going to come to an end. The moment she heard about the 66 Seals, and the breaking of the seal of the witnesses, Anna lost control. She went into a fit of hysteria while trying to explain to classmates what was going to happen.
After this episode in the middle of a busy class (it took four men to restrain her), she was sent to a hospital where she was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. She grew something of a Cassandra Complex during her time in the hospital. Anna knew the world was coming to an end, could tell people all of the damage going on in the world, but nobody believed her. Hearing angels wasn’t the only ability Anna possessed (as she found out during her time in the hospital); she could also move objects with her mind, and could also see demons for what they were. To make matters worse, the angels continued to talk about two men in particular—Sam and Dean Winchester.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say she’d become slightly obsessed with them and their journey. All that she knew about them, she learned second hand by practically eavesdropping. For the time in the hospital; Anna was safe, for the most part, the rest of the world as blissfully unaware that she was there, just as she’d been ignorant to the fact that things had ever been so dire. Only recently has Anna’s existence been noticed, and now both demons and angels are out to find her; the former to use her as Intel, and the latter to destroy the threat.
