are they not the same after the lies?
when you were a child
i was lost in the wild,
but you built a home for me in the road
i was born the cold

personality
Cool and relatively collected, Andre is the complete opposite of his sister in terms of personality. Andreas is known for being incredibly patient and pretty chill about nearly everything he’s faced with. There’s a lot that he can tolerate, and it takes a hell of a ton to piss him off to the point of intense rage. Andreas very much lives in the “now” and yearns to enjoy every second of life – how often does one get to live anyhow? Admirable as those qualities may be, however, he has some very distasteful ones; when he’s upset, he closes himself off to practically everyone, and he doesn’t think twice about lashing out when he feels threatened.
When it comes to responsibility, Andre is twice as diligent about making sure he does what needs to be done. He refuses to miss a day of school, is never late to work without a good reason, and can’t stand the idea of not keeping up on his own room’s cleanliness. Maids and gardeners be damned, Andre will sometimes even be found taking their jobs by working on the house himself. Seeing as he has a twenty-four year old professional linguist to live up to, Andre sometimes stresses himself out too much trying to keep on par with her skills in what he’s studying. While he’s not as intelligent as his sister, he makes up for it in being incredibly determined, and it’s hard to believe that he can ever catch a break from how much he studies to do breathe, much less work part-time at a local bar.
Another prominent quality Andreas has is that he is incredibly romantic. He has a very classic view of love and how it works, and as a result he refuses to have sex with anyone until he finds that one person who means more to him than anything in the world. That doesn’t mean he isn’t a terrible flirt, though, as he is incredibly prone to leading people on until they get all worked up before he simply walks away or ignores them. God forbid anyone try to talk him into something he doesn’t want, because that only leads to his calling for his big sister to deal with them.
A simple way to describe Andreas is to compare him to his father; like Gideon, Andre is very tall and pretty quiet most of the time. Add those two traits to his knack for wearing dark eye-make-up and various gothic trinkets and you have yourself a bonafide miniature goth version of Gideon Trevilyan. But as tall and scary-looking as he can be, his intimidation level is significantly lower than would be expected. Andre is cursed (or blessed, depending on what situation he’s in) with an extremely feminine face and lanky body. As such, it’s rare when he meets someone who’s actually fearful or wary of him, and he thus needs to rely on Daisy to scare them off if they try to mess with him.
background
Halloween in ‘89 for Athena Notara was supposed to be spent taking her five-year-old daughter trick-or-treating, but before they even reached the first house, Athena went into labour and was forced to put their plans on hold and rush to a hospital. By the time midnight rolled around, she had delivered a healthy baby boy, who she and her partner, Gideon, decided to name Andreas Matthew Notara. Instead of candy, Daisy received a baby brother, and to this day he's pretty sure she's still a little pissy about that.
Other than the day that his birthday landed on, there was absolutely nothing abnormal about him. He was a fussy infant, which could have been attributed to his inability to sleep as much as most babies, and the only time he was quiet for long periods of time was when he was being held in either parents’ arms. This fact about him remained true as he grew, remaining ever the clingy boy even when he was old enough to attend preschool. Clingy as he was, he was never one to cause his parents too much trouble, perhaps because he knew they had their hands full with his older sister, with whom he was particularly attached to.
He was an awkward child, the little boy whose features didn’t exactly match his own body. He didn’t know how to talk to other people and some teachers even expressed their concern to his parents that he may have been socially inept. Try as he might, Andreas was only able to hold a couple of friends at a time before they would eventually move on. But as luck would have it, he didn’t let any of it bother him too much. Sure, he had his days where he would return home with a pouty lip and curl into his mother’s lap for comfort. It was always made him feel better when Daisy would get visibly angry and talk about beating up whoever upset him, and when his mother stroked his hair and reassured him everything was all right.
So his childhood flew by relatively slow for him, as he appeared to want to enjoy every second of it. He had developed a unique personality by the time he reached seventh grade. Sometime between the start and middle of his first year, he came across a book titled Dracula. It was then that his interest in vampires and other strange creatures came to light, and he began slowly developing his own sense of “style” based upon this. It wasn’t long before he was considered that awkward goth kid that nobody wanted to hang around, but given how friendly he was, he managed to gain a substantial amount of friends in spite of his appearance.
During his years in junior high, Daisy began to attend a local college, and by the time he was starting his last year, there was talk of her moving to the States instead. No matter how much he argued and pleaded with her and his parents, there wasn’t much he could do to change her mind, and he was soon begrudgingly assisting her in packing her things. As much as he didn’t want her to go, Andre distanced himself from his selfishness long enough to act as excited as she was if only to make it easier on himself. But once she was gone, there was no denying how much he missed her. Still, life went on.
High school was really no different to him than junior high had been. Different levels of the same classes he had taken, same people he had known nearly all his life with only a generous handful of people he wasn’t familiar with. He was part of a clique of boys and girls that were recognised as “scene kids,” although he rarely actually hung out with them. In fact, he had taken more of a liking to the people they disliked, perhaps in his own way of proving he was different than they were, and surrounded himself with all manner of people ranging from jocks to chess club geeks. His grades remained steady, and although not as spectacular as they could have been, he was receiving letters from a couple of colleges here and there before his senior year was up.
When he graduated, he had enough on his plate to consider, but anyone that knew him well enough knew that he was set on one thing and one thing only: to follow his sister to her school and make damn sure she was being watched over. He’d seen all the movies and the crazy Americans, and her being such a tiny woman in such a large city… he didn’t care how fierce she was, she couldn’t stand up to a gun. So, much to no one’s surprise, Andre packed his things and headed for San Francisco, California after only six months of preparation.
His move to San Francisco had been a bit of a strange experience for him, and yet something he greatly enjoyed more than he expected to. The large city, the mixes of people from all over, and the easy acceptance of his appearance was something that was met with enthusiasm from him. It didn’t take long for him to enrol into the University of San Francisco and get setup with an apartment, and he very quickly landed a job at a local club called P3. Nothing could possibly go wrong now, right?

family
- Gideon Trevilyan — Father. Alive. Andre's relationship with his father is like any normal father-son relationship. The two of them play the occasional sport with one another, and Andre drops by Gideon's office unannounced on a regular basis. While most people might be intimidated by such a tall, straight-faced man like Gideon, his baby-talk to his fish is all that Andre needs to think about when people mention something like that.
- Athena Notara — Mother. Alive. Sometimes Andre wonders if Athena's a sadist, considering how many times she enjoys making her children squirm with her sex-discussions. Andre loves his mother dearly, and while Daisy is daddy's girl, Andre is the obligatory mama's boy and often goes to Athena when he needs comfort.
- Daisy Notara — Older Sister. Andre's relationship with his sister isn't so much complicated as it is typical. One minute there'll be insults and blunt objects flying every which way, and the next they'll be laughing and hugging like the ideal siblings. No matter what happens, though, Andre adores Daisy and often seeks her support when he feels like he can't do something on his own. There's no one he's more ready to run to when he feels threatened... except perhaps Gideon, but who runs to their father for backup when they have a little angry flame thrower?

- Piper Halliwell — His boss. In the rare times that she isn't rushing around or disappearing due to some family emergency, Andre's found that she is a pretty cool woman. He enjoys having her as an employer and is especially fond of the eye-candy her sisters provide with their presence.
